Things are out of this world in our nursery this month as our children will tackle all things space!

Children will be developing their mathematical understanding, tackling activities like ordering the planets in their size order. They’ll be getting hands on, building their own telescopes, baking space snacks, making galaxy play dough and even designing and engineering a space rocket.

‘The Solar System Song’ will help children develop their communication and learn new vocabulary associated with this month’s theme!

We’ll be hosting an alien theme party in our nursery, too!

The book of the month is ‘Aliens Wear Underpants’ and our word of the month is ‘astronaut.’

There will be a break in the space theme for a coronation party on Tuesday 9th May to celebrate King Charles’ coronation and the children will make their own crowns and enjoy lots of party food!

We’ll also be celebrating Africa Day on 25th May when we will welcome one of our lovely Mums into the nursery to cook an African feast for our children.

Parents and carers are invited into the nursery for the ‘Money and Me’ course led by the Women’s Organisation. There will be three sessions and you can apply by speaking to a member of the team.

At the end of the month, we’ll be closed on 30th May for staff training then running Holiday Club from 31st May – 9th June.

As always you can stay up to date with everything we get up to on our social media.
