Centre 56’s very own Fundraising Officer is hoping to raise £20,000 for the charity through his unique, ultra-marathon challenge.

On Saturday 10th February, our very own Fundraising Officer, Alex, will be running the whole Merseyrail Northern Line in a day.

Starting from Hunts Cross, his run calls at all stations on the Northern Line (even the new Headbolt Lane Station). The route is approximately 56 miles and will take him roughly 10 hours to complete.

Already a keen runner, Alex has been creating his own ultra-marathon challenges for the last few years, raising money for various causes. Earlier this year, he ran to every Liverpool postcode in a day to raise money for his local Cricket Club.

We’d love for the local community to get behind Alex as he takes on this huge challenge! From small local businesses to big names like Everton in the Community, there’s a whole host of people pledging their support for this challenge.

How you can help!

Donate:

Alex is hoping to raise £20,000 which would make such a huge difference for the children and families that we support. Donations can be made to our Enthuse page: [Centre 56: Running the Railways – Alex Rigby’s Ultra Marathon (enthuse.com)]

Sponsor a station:

Alex’s route calls at all 37 stations on Merseyrail’s Northern Line, which means there are 37 stations that could be sponsored!

Sponsoring a station is an amazing opportunity to shout about your business while providing your staff with meaningful and mood-boosting volunteering opportunities. We need people to help us raise awareness of Centre 56 and collect donations for us at each station on the route.

 Benefits for your business:

  • Publicity – Station sponsors will be included in all relevant PR, and tagged in social media posts before, during and after the challenge, raising your profile as a business that gives back
  • Staff wellbeing – Offering volunteering opportunities for your staff is an amazing way to boost staff morale while helping staff get to know each other better and mix with colleagues they may not often work with
  • Generate social value – by collecting donations for us, and helping us raise awareness of our charity, you’ll be generating social value that you can measure and report on
  • Networking – We intend to create opportunities for all the businesses supporting this challenge to meet before and after, helping you form valuable local connections.

And most importantly, by helping us raise money and awareness throughout the challenge, you’ll be making a difference for the children and families who rely on our services!

Your business will also get a photograph with Alex and the supporting runners when they arrive at your station.
