The Healthy Start Scheme is an NHS initiative to help new, expectant and breastfeeding mothers buy healthy food and milk. If you are over 10 weeks pregnant, are breastfeeding or have a child under the age of 4 and claim Universal Credit or Child Tax Credit, you may be entitled to additional support to buy healthy food and milk.

If you are already part of the Healthy Start scheme, a letter will be sent in your voucher pack inviting you to apply for the digital scheme.

The prepaid card aims to make the process easier for those on the Healthy Start scheme. The new card payments are discreet and can be used anywhere that accepts Mastercard payments and sells the healthy start food items.

Payments to Healthy Start cards will be made automatically every week and money on the cards will not expire, meaning any money left on the card can be used for healthy foods and milk purchased in the future. The balance on the card can also be checked at any time.

Our team are here to help any of our families apply for the scheme, whether it be help with technology or general guidance. Get in touch today on 0151 727 1355 or pop in to our nursery!
