The Grand Pride of Sefton Awards took place on Friday 26th April, honouring local heroes from across Sefton.

The awards are organised by Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group and Stand Up for Southport in association with media partners In Demand Radio. Over 1,300 nominations were received for community figures from Southport, Bootle, Crosby, Formby, Maghull and across Sefton.

Alex was nominated after raising £27,000 for Centre 56 by running to all 37 Merseyrail Northern Line Stations in a day. He went on to be named the winner of the Charity Champion Award 2024.

Alex said: “I was honoured to be nominated in the Charity Champion category, alongside two other incredible people. I was delighted to win but I wish I could have split the trophy into three pieces and shared it, because everyone who raises money is a champion in my eyes.”

He dedicated the award to his colleagues at Centre 56 saying: “Thank you to everyone at Centre 56 for supporting and backing me, you have all been amazing and this is for you!”

Thank you to all the organisers and sponsors for putting together such a fantastic evening of celebration!
