On Monday 5th December, nine carers and eight of our children enjoyed a magical day with The Storybarn at Calderstones Park.
Based in the glorious Calderstones grounds, The Storybarn is an imaginative play space for children and families designed to encourage reading for pleasure.
The day started with our children exploring the Storybarn playroom complete with ceiling-to-floor chalk boards, plant canopies and festive décor. The rest of the day was spent singing songs, listening to stories, and festive craft-making.
After our children and carers enjoyed a delicious lunch, everyone got wrapped up for a winter walk through the gardens, on a treasure hunt, finding clues from the story ‘The Tiny Reindeer.’ The children even got a copy to take away! The day was finished off with ice-cream and a cosy coach ride home.
