Centre 56 has been selected as one of three local organisations taking part in the Tesco Blue Token Scheme – an initiative that empowers shoppers to support projects making a real difference in their community.
Every time you shop in Tesco, you’ll receive a blue token at checkout. By dropping your token into the Centre 56 voting box, you’re helping us secure vital funding that directly supports children and families affected by domestic abuse or crisis.
How the Tesco Blue Token initiative works
Every four months, Tesco selects three local projects to feature in an in‑store customer vote. Shoppers use their blue token to choose which project should receive the highest level of funding. All three organisations receive a grant – but your vote determines whether we receive £500, £1,000 or £1,500.
This funding is designed to support projects that help children access nutritious food, healthy snacks, breakfast or after‑school clubs, holiday hunger support and activities that boost physical and mental wellbeing. These are the very things that help children feel safe, nourished and able to thrive -especially those who have experienced trauma.
What your blue token vote means for Centre 56
At Centre 56, we provide specialist childcare, emotional support and practical help for families escaping domestic abuse. Many of the children who come through our doors have had their childhoods interrupted by fear, instability or crisis. Funding from Tesco will help us provide free healthy meals and snacks to children while they attend Centre 56’s nursery.
A single blue token might feel small – but for our families, it can mean warmth, safety and a full tummy.
